Hearthfire Bakery started in Bellingen, NSW in 2000. In 2016, we opened our second shop in Sawtell, NSW.
Owners Sally & Dave are passionate about not only bread, but also sustainability, local ingredients, and creating a sense of community. As Dave has mentioned, “If we don’t build our communities, there won’t be a community.”

The Coffs Coast and neighbouring areas are full of incredible farmers and producers. We have an ‘open door’ policy, providing local producers of any size with an outlet to sell their produce to. And just over the mountain, the Liverpool plain between Tamworth and Gunnedah provides our organically grown grain which is ground for us by Wholegrain Milling Co (Demeter).
Sally and Dave's food fits in with some of their driving principles revolving around sustainability. “We source much of our foods from local markets and growers directly. Removing the need for transport and retaining the flavours that give our food such a well-regarded name, not to mention strengthening our local economy.”

In the kitchen, skilled talented chefs conjure up dishes that are simply heavenly. We don’t take shortcuts, everything is made by scratch with passion.
